Con firma de Acuerdo y a la espera de su aprobación en el COE Nacional, inicia re-apertura progresiva de actividades e implementación de planes pilotos del sector turístico de Cuenca
(Cuenca, Azuay 18-05-2020) El acalde de Cuenca, Ing. Pedro Palacios Ullauri y representantes de la Asociación de Bares y Restaurantes de Cuenca, la Cámara de Turismo del Azuay y la Asociación Hotelera del Azuay, firmaron importante “Acuerdo para la re-apertura progresiva de actividades e implementación de planes pilotos del sector turístico para el cantón Cuenca”.
(Cuenca, Azuay 18-05-2020) The mayor of Cuenca, Engineer Pedro Palacios Ullauri and representatives of the Association of Bars and Restaurants of Cuenca, the Chamber of Tourism of Azuay and the Hotel Association of Azuay, signed an important "Agreement for the progressive reopening of activities and implementation of pilot plans in the tourism sector for the city of Cuenca".
El Plan Piloto estipula que los gremios socializarán con los establecimientos asociados, los protocolos que apruebe el COE Nacional: "Protocolo general de medidas de Bioseguridad para establecimientos de Alimentos y Bebidas; Restaurantes y Cafeterías”, y, el "Protocolo general para el uso de equipos de Bioseguridad y medidas sanitarias para establecimientos de alojamiento turístico”, ambos al momento de su reapertura en el contexto de la emergencia sanitaria por COVID- 19", siendo responsabilidad de la empresa su estricto cumplimiento. María Angélica León, Directora Ejecutiva de la Fundación Municipal Turismo para Cuenca, informó que con este acuerdo se plantea el reinicio paulatino de las actividades turísticas dentro del cantón. Manifestando que desde la institución se ha brindado el apoyo respectivo en la revisión del expediente adjuntando un informe, mismo que será enviado por el COE Cantonal para su aprobación al COE nacional.
María Angélica León, Executive Director of the Municipal Cuenca tourism board, reported that this agreement aims at the gradual resumption of tourism activities within the city. She stated that the institution has provided the respective support in the revision of the file by attaching a report, which will be sent by the Cantonal COE for approval to the national COE.
Por su lado el alcalde Pedro Palacios manifestó que existe el compromiso de la administración municipal de hacer lo necesario para que este sector vuelva a dinamizar su economía, siempre precautelando la salud de los actores de la actividad turística. La principal autoridad de la ciudad anunció que pronto la Municipalidad contará con 20 mil pruebas de covid19 para aplicarlas en varios ciudadanos que reactivarán los diferentes sectores productivos del cantón.

El presidente de la Asociación de Bares y Restaurantes de Cuenca, Luis Torres, manifestó que el apoyo del alcalde en la aprobación de los protocolos de seguridad para poder entrar en un plan piloto de reactivación del sector de alimentos y bebidas, es fundamental. “Queremos reactivar la economía y evitar despidos. Nosotros nos comprometemos a cumplir con todos los protocolos de bioseguridad”, aseguró.
The president of the Association of Bars and Restaurants of Cuenca, Luis Torres, said that the support of the mayor in the approval of the security protocols to be able to enter a pilot plan to reactivate the food and beverage sector is fundamental. "We want to reactivate the economy and avoid layoffs. We are committed to complying with all biosecurity protocols," he said.
Es importante mencionar que las personas que formen parte de las actividades de reapertura del Plan Piloto, en adhesión al plan de testeo, formarán parte del muestreo estadístico que se establecerá en el PLAN GENERAL DE APLICACIÓN DE PRUEBAS de COVID 19, cuya información y resultado permitirá determinar la propagación del virus en el cantón Cuenca, información que será analizada por el GAD Municipal de Cuenca y entregada al Ministerio de Salud Pública.
It is important to mention that the people who are part of the reopening activities of the Pilot Plan, in adhesion to the testing plan, will be part of the statistical sampling that will be established in the GENERAL PLAN OF TESTING APPLICATION for COVID 19, whose information and results will allow us to determine the spread of the virus in the canton of Cuenca, information that will be analyzed by the Municipal GAD of Cuenca and delivered to the Ministry of Public Health.
