Cuenca es una ciudad maravillosa rodeada de 4 ríos, que dan un toque mágico a la ciudad, preferida por los cañaris, incas y españoles; quienes han aportado para obtener una mezcla de costumbres, tradiciones y construcciones increíbles. Su centro histórico con ruinas incaicas y cañaris, casas coloniales de diversos estilos, lleno de iglesias, calles tradicionales, parques y rincones en los cuales se mantienen historias vivas a través del tiempo.
Cuenca is a wonderful city surrounded by 4 rivers, that give a magic touch to the city, preferred by the cañaris, incas and spanish; who have contributed to obtain a mixture of customs, traditions and incredible constructions. Its historical center with Inca ruins and cañaris, colonial houses of diverse styles, full of churches, traditional streets, parks and corners in which stories are kept alive through time.
Además, sus alrededores guardan pequeños lugares que dejan maravillados a propios y extraños. Entre ellos, sus rutas para recorrer y descansar, las orillas de sus ríos, sus montañas, sus páramos y sus cascadas. Entre los lugares que nos dejan maravillados están los miradores nuevos como Guaguazhumi, Ictocruz, parque de la luz el Tablón, y Nulti, lugares con muchas anécdotas e historias.
In addition, its surroundings hold small places that leave both locals and strangers amazed. Among them, its routes to walk and rest, the banks of its rivers, its mountains, its moors and its waterfalls. Among the places that leave us amazed are the new viewpoints such as Guaguazhumi, Ictocruz, the park of light El Tablón, and Nulti, places with many anecdotes and stories.
Uno de los destinos que más me ha fascinado, es la emblemática montaña denominada Cabogana, con sus riachuelos y cascadas, en la que se puede distinguir diversos ecosistemas como: bosques húmedos nativos, amplios bosques de eucalipto y páramo. El Cabogana es un lugar donde la armonía entre el hombre y la naturaleza se mezclan para brindar a sus visitantes una emocionante caminata tanto en el día, como en la noche. La montaña está ubicada a los alrededores de los poblados de Sayausí, Racar y Sinincay. Para llegar al sector debemos tomar la vía a Racar, por el barrio Mutualista Azuay, al llegar a la iglesia de la Santísima Trinidad podemos dejar los vehículos y empieza la aventura de caminata.
One of the destinations that has fascinated me the most is the emblematic mountain called Cabogana, with its streams and waterfalls, where you can distinguish various ecosystems such as: native rainforests, large forests of eucalyptus and moorland. Cabogana is a place where harmony between man and nature mixes to offer its visitors an exciting walk both during the day and at night. The mountain is located around the towns of Sayausí, Racar and Sinincay. To reach the sector we must take the road to Racar, through the Mutualista Azuay neighborhood. When we arrive at the church of the Holy Trinity we can leave the vehicles and the walking adventure begins.
Recuerdo una ocasión que nos reunimos con amigos, también aventureros, que disfrutan del aire libre. Recorrimos las laderas hasta llegar a la cumbre de la primera parte del ascenso denominada Caboganilla. A nosotros nos gusta caminar y correr en estos senderos acompañados con nuestros perros, aprovechamos de esta manera para realizar actividades al aire libre y generar un gran vínculo con nuestras mascotas.
I remember one occasion when we met friends, also adventurers, who enjoy the outdoors. We traveled the slopes until we reached the summit of the first part of the ascent called Caboganilla. We like to walk and run on these trails accompanied by our dogs. We take advantage of this to do outdoor activities and generate a great bond with our pets.
Al ascender por la montaña pasamos por diversos ecosistemas y al salir de los bosques de eucalipto, bosque nativo y cascada, nos encontramos con una vista maravillosa de otro lado de la ciudad, una vista que al transcurrir el día y despejarse las nubes y neblina se iba haciendo cada vez más extraordinaria; acompañados del trinar de los pájaros y el sonido del viento, sentimos una conexión espiritual y mágica con la naturaleza y la vida misma.
As we ascended the mountain we passed through various ecosystems and as we left the eucalyptus forest, native forest and waterfall, we found a wonderful view from the other side of the city, a view that as the day went by and the clouds and fog cleared became more and more extraordinary; accompanied by the song of the birds and the sound of the wind, we felt a spiritual and magical connection with nature and life itself.
El regreso estuvo acompañado por una llovizna, que en lugar de incomodarnos nos refrescó para continuar dando pasos firmes en la caminata y nos mejoró el día.
Si no conoce el Cabogana y vive en Cuenca debería darse unas horas y visitar esta maravilla de la ciudad, una montaña esmeralda en los alrededores de la bella Cuenca.
The return was accompanied by a drizzle, which instead of bothering us refreshed us to continue taking firm steps on the walk and made our day better.
If you do not know the Cabogana and live in Cuenca, you should give yourself a few hours and visit this marvel of the city, an emerald mountain in the surroundings of beautiful Cuenca.
Además, en Cuenca está el Parte Nacional Cajas, en el cual hay hermosos paisajes y numerosas lagunas; un destino infaltable si le gusta la aventura y la caminata.
En estos recorridos también puedes descubrir la cultura y gastronomía de la zona, caracterizada por su gente amable y cariñosa que brindan a los turistas nacionales y extranjeros, deliciosos platillos, junto a una acogedora chimenea o una ventana desde la que se puede admirar la belleza del parque nacional.
In addition, in Cuenca there is the Cajas National Park, in which there are beautiful landscapes and numerous lakes; a must if you like adventure and hiking.
