The cliff

El Barranco: located along the Tomebamba River, El Barranco is one of the most important and beautiful natural spaces that Cuenca has. Adorned by hanging houses, nowadays converted into museums, cafes, artisan and cultural centers, as well as a long path for bike and walking tours, it is the limit point of the historic center with the modern part of the city. This site is ideal for bird watching.

On foot: The Barranco is approximately 3km long and you can walk along Calle Larga, 12 de Abril, up to El Vado and down to Todos los Santos.
