'Santa Ana de los Ríos de Cuenca' is the capital of the Azuay Province, as well as one of the most important and beautiful cities in Ecuador. The Historic Center of Cuenca is a World Heritage Site of Humanity, thanks to the preservation of the original architectural grid, two impressive Cathedrals, parks and squares -which provide a lot of color- and the crafts made by our people. of these crafts also led Cuenca to be named "International City of Crafts" by the World Craft Council, a non-governmental organization affiliated with Unesco.

Green areas surround Cuenca, as the Tomebamba, Tarqui, Yanuncay and Machángara rivers also cross it. If you want even more contact with nature, our mountainous area (with Cañari and Inca heritage) and the Cajas National Park -an impressive example of the beauty of the páramo-, recognized as a World Biosphere Reserve, are just a few minutes away.

This city is also called the "Athens of Ecuador", for its architecture, its cultural diversity, its contribution to the Ecuadorian arts, sciences and literature.

Since the beginning of 2020, we have been working on the promotion of "Biosafe and Sustainable Cuenca", which called on institutions (public and private), companies and commercial places, part of the tourist value chain, to apply strict biosecurity measures in their facilities, to avoid COVID-19, and guarantee a safe space for national and foreign visitors.

Currently, 393 establishments (hotels, restaurants, tourist offices, airports, museums, among others) have this badge that guarantees the application of biosafety protocols, thanks to its disinfection areas, digital menus or menus, limited capacity, prior check-in and without physical contact with staff, etc.

This is how, in August 2020, we also obtained the “Safe Travels” recognition, granted by the World Travel Tourism Council (WTTC).

In order to enter the country, you will only need to have a negative PCR test and follow the security measures required for each place you visit.

Once here, you need to visit: the Cathedrals -old and new- in Calderón Park, Plaza de las Flores, San Luis Seminary and Santa Ana Street, the city's Barranco, Museums, the French Route, San Sebastián, Turi, El Cajas National Park, among others; while you delight yourself with the richest Andean gastronomy in the area.

All these places make Cuenca a unique city in the world.
