CUENCA TRAM
Our Tram is the largest public transport system in the city. It begins its journey in the south, near the road to Baños, Control Sur sector; it passes through the main streets of the Historic Center, the Terrestrial Terminal and the Airport, and ends to the north, in the Industrial Park sector.

How do I buy a ticket on the Cuenca Tram?
Observe the screen of any of the Vending Machines (located in
all stations) and follow these steps:

a) Select the option 'Buy ticket'.
.
b) Indicate the number of people who will travel with the same ticket.
.
c) Enter the exact value of the purchase (coins or bills are accepted).
.
d) Click on the 'Continue' option.
.
e) Collect your ticket from the dispenser.
How do I top up my card?
At Vending Machines (located at all stations), follow these
Steps:
a) Place the card in the reader.

b) Select the 'Recharge' option, which is displayed on the screen.
.
c) Select the type of recharge:
.
Multi-trip (minimum 5 trips, for $ 0.30 each)
Purse (individual trips, for $ 0.35 each).

d) Select the value of the recharge.
.
e) Insert the payment into the coin or banknote slot (exact value).

At this end of the Historic Center, you can visit the Iglesia del Corazón de Jesús. Open since 1952.
Pass by the Casa de Las Posadas. Tradition tells that travelers who came to the city with their animals rested in this house, with its mud walls.

Thanks to this stop, you can visit one of the most traditional neighborhoods of Cuenca.

* In front of the Park, find the House of Temperance, where the Museum of Modern Art is located.

Stop: Santo Domingo

This is one of the most important commercial areas in the Historic Center. You will find all kinds of trendy shops as you walk around here.

* The Santo Domingo Church is one of the favorites of the families that live in the sector.

* The Plaza de Santo Domingo is full of pigeons that fly accompanying the passers-by.

* Three blocks away, you will reach the heart of the Historic Center: The Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception.

* The San Alfonso Church, well known for the beauty of its representation of heaven and purgatory.

* The Cuenca Mayor's Office building; a mansion with marble pillars at the entrance, it is always open since it has a gallery on its lower floor.

Thanks to this stop, you are very close to * San Blas Park, adorned by beautiful gardens and a striking pool.
* On one side you will also see the San Blas Church, always full and very visited by the faithful during the weekends.
* The House of the Province is in one of the corners of the Park, formerly known as El Convento del Buen Pastor.
* Before arriving at Av. Huayna Cápac, the Portal Artesanal closes this sector of the Historic Center, along with its gallery, restaurants and frequent craft fairs.
Stop: Gaspar Sangurima

* Close to this stop, you will find one of the main markets of the Center, the October 9 Market. Fresh fruits and vegetables, baked pork and even guinea pigs for your enjoyment.
* The Civic Plaza, outside the market, is located above the underground parking lot and lends itself to popular games and artistic performances.
A few blocks away, in the * Plaza Rotary you will find handicrafts in wood, straw, fabrics, threads and clay.
